Privacy Policy for The Rebooter’s Guide
Last updated: 08/08/2025
This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, and protect your information when you subscribe to or interact with The Rebooter’s Guide. Spoiler: I don’t sell your info to shady data brokers, and I’m not interested in what’s in your browser history.
1. Information I collect
When you subscribe, I collect:
Email address (so I can actually send you the newsletter)
Name (optional — I won’t judge if you sign up as “Tech Wizard #47”)
Any info you voluntarily share when you reply to emails or fill out forms
I do not collect sensitive personal information like credit card numbers directly — if you go paid, that’s all handled securely by Substack/Stripe.
2. How I use your information
Your info is used to:
Send you The Rebooter’s Guide newsletter
Respond to your messages or questions
Occasionally share updates, special offers, or relevant news
Make sure I’m not accidentally sending tips to a bot (unless the bot is polite)
3. How I protect your information
I use reasonable security measures to keep your information safe. That said, no system is 100% secure, so please don’t send me your router password or your secret chili recipe over email.
4. Sharing your information
I do not sell, rent, or trade your info. The only times your data may be shared are:
With service providers (like Substack or Stripe) who help run this newsletter
If required by law or legal process
If you give explicit permission
5. Cookies and tracking
Substack may use cookies and similar tracking tech to see how people interact with emails and the site (like open rates, clicks, and whether you scrolled all the way down to read the footer jokes).
6. Your choices
You can unsubscribe anytime by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. You can also contact me at jj@therebootersguide.com to update or delete your info.
7. Changes to this policy
If I change this Privacy Policy, I’ll post the update here and mention it in the newsletter.
